Morning at the park

The boys and I (sal) went to the park this morning. Due to a lot of recent rain, it's been ages since we've made it to the park. It was a nice morning

A very popular water play area

Guess the park was exhausting!

Busy busy

Just wanted to do a quick update to say we have been very busy lately with all our paining work. We have had a few issues with the ceilings, and paint flaking off (apparently whoever painted the ceilings never primed the wood, so it just flakes off) but after much hard work and many liters of Bondcrete we are back on track with the painting.

It's a slow process with two helpful toddlers, but we can't wait to see the finished product, so we are encouraged to keep going. We would like to say a big thank you to Sal's mum (Nana) and sister (Aunty Shell) for their help!

Pictures will be uploaded when we are finished.

Floods in Queensland

Anyone who's been watching the news must surely know about the catastrophic and deadly floods currently unfolding in southern QLD and northern NSW.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/01/11/australia.floods/index.html

We intentionally don't mention exactly where live, but i will say that we are safe, and these awful floods are currently about 10-12 hours drive away from here, and do not pose a threat to us at all.

Our thoughts are with our QLD neighbours, and hope these floods subside soon.

Random December stuff

In mid December, we went to our local Multiple Birth Association Christmas party. We didn’t take many pictures, too busy chatting, but here are some of Sal swimming with the boys.

Playing in the sand pit with new sand toys (from Nana). We did have a 3rd Christmas with Sal’s mum (Nana), sister (Aunty Shell) and her husband (Uncle Michael), but we were a little pictured out, and didn’t take any photos that day…. sorry.

tn_IMG_4100tn_IMG_4102tn_IMG_4108tn_IMG_4115Aunty Shell and Uncle Michael gave us a great shade umbrella for Christmas. We’ve already found it useful to create shade for the boys to play in their sandpit. A permanent shade cloth for that sandpit is a work in progress….. but so are a lot of things in this house (like mowing the lawn in this particular picture!)…. ha ha ha ha!!tn_IMG_4124

Christmas

Tracie, Sal, Ben and Ethan celebrated Christmas in our own home, just the 4 of us this year. It was a nice change.

We told the boys all about Santa for weeks leading up to Christmas, saw all the hype in the shops and around the neighbourhood and by the time Christmas was here, the boys were very excited for Santa to come!

On Christmas Eve, (while Sal was at work) Tracie and the boys made cookies for Santa. Then later (after Sal got home from work) we decorated them together.

Parking garage – a BIG hit!tn_IMG_4054tn_IMG_4059tn_IMG_4067tn_IMG_4075tn_IMG_4079The alphabet game on the fridge. The boys did not know any letters before this game. Now (2 weeks later) they know about 3 letters each. They play with it every day. We haven’t really tried to teach them letters yet, they are just picking it up.tn_IMG_4083tn_IMG_4084tn_IMG_4091

Christmas morning was great fun. We did a baked chicken and vegetables for lunch, and I ate too much!

Christmas afternoon I, (Sal) went to work, while Trace and the boys had a quiet afternoon at home playing with new toys.
